Not yet. The Next Detroit Foundation is still in its pre-launch stage and does not currently hold active nonprofit status. Because of this, contributions cannot be treated as tax-deductible donations at this time. As our formal structure comes online, we'll update supporters directly.
We're in the building phase. Right now our focus is on planning, developing partnerships, and laying the groundwork for programs and ventures that will create real, measurable impact. The foundation is not yet fully operating, and we believe in being upfront about exactly where we stand.
No. Buying merchandise is a retail purchase, not a charitable donation. You receive a product in exchange for your payment, so it cannot be claimed as a tax-deductible gift. Your support still helps us grow awareness and spread the mission — we just want the distinction to be clear.
Radical transparency is core to who we are. As the foundation becomes operational, we'll share regular updates and reporting on how funds are allocated and the impact they create. Every supporter deserves to see exactly where their contribution goes and what it helps build.
